It has three string on it and a 38 inch fret board.it is played by an ivory wedge that has sharp edge that is plucked against the strings.the box at the bottom of the fret is made from wood and skin from animal to give it different sounds.This instrument come in various sizes and shapes. I picked this image is because most of the song played for anime have this instrument playing in them. Some of the more traditional animation that I watch have some of the character s playing this instrument during plays and other times just as entertainment.
