image Taiko

These kinds of drum were played for thousands for years and were used in everything from traditional music to Buddhists rituals.The Takio is played with two sticks called Bachi. The instruments though not originally from Japan it did get known as a Japanese instrument. This instrument is originally from Korea. This instrument comes in various sizes and uses different types of animal skins to produce the various sound in the different Hayashi plays that they  put on. I picked this image because of the Japanese animation I watch and because I have seen many shows with these drums in it. I like how the sound of this instrument is so loud and rhythmic it is when played right.
